In 1794, Nicolas Jacques Conté developed the modern graphite lead, composed of a mixture of clay and graphite, which finally made it possible to vary the lead's hardness. The pencil manufacturing he created in 1795 allowed France to produce its own writing and drawing supplies.

It is recommended for meticulous and precise work, whether constructing a sophisticated perspective, a comic book character, or a flawlessly rendered nude.

The charcoal provides a dry, dense, and intensely black finish. Its unique feature is that it won't break, making it easy to transport.

As for blending stumps and twisting tools, they allow you to soften, like with your fingers, lines of pastels or pencils, in a very localized way on the drawing.
